Grange Barn Wedding

Kate and Ash’s Idyllic Grange Barn Wedding

Kate and Ash’s wedding day at Grange Barn was the epitome of relaxed and beautiful. It was a day dedicated to love, family, and good times. Grange Barn, set against the picturesque backdrop of the Shropshire countryside, proved to be the perfect venue for their special day, offering everything they needed on-site for a seamless celebration.

Bridal prep

The day began with me joining Kate and her bridesmaids in the loft at Grange Barn. They were in the capable hands of the talented Jessica Jackson for makeup and Carys Elliss for hair, and the results were stunning. Kate, radiant in a Watters dress adorned with floral lace from the fabulous Flamingo Boulvard, wore a lovely pearl headband by Lace and Favour, and precious earrings crafted from her grandparents’ wedding rings, a meaningful touch. During the morning preparations, the beautiful bouquets by Bloomin’ El  were delivered, completing her look.

The Ceremony

Kate and Ash’s ceremony was nothing short of perfect. There wasn’t a dry eye in the house as Kate’s dad, creid all the way as he walked her down the aisle. The couple chose to exchange their own heartfelt vows and included three readings by loved ones, with a particularly touching one from Ash’s wonderful grandmother.

Following a joyful confetti toss and family photos, Kate suprised the bridal party with smokebombs! We had an absolute laugh as one of them wouldn’t light and it was practically gale force winds, but we still however managed to get the shot.

The reception at Grange Barn

The reception room at Grange Barn was a sight to behold. The day before the wedding, the couple, along with the help of their family and friends, transformed the venue into a floral wonderland. Tables were adorned with bottles filled with wildflowers and candle holders of various shapes and sizes. They even created stunning floral arrangements in urns and a captivating floral installation to hang behind the top table. Kate, a graphic designer, designed all the signage and menus, incorporating my favourite color scheme of red and pink – I even showed up in a jumpsuit which matched perfectly by chance.

Lloyd, the best man, had the essential task of getting everyone outside so I could capture the details of their hard work, and he did a fantastic job, proclaiming himself as ‘boring but the most useful’. Which was absolutely not the case when he was throwing shapes later on the dancefloor.

The catering by Samuel James Catering was exceptional, and they even sent me home with some chips and gyros. The couple even had 3 cocktail specials named after their two dogs and cat.

Michaela Wylde provided the enchanting background music throughout the day, and her husband later joined in the evening, taking the stage with just his guitar. Their performance had everyone on the dance floor, singing and dancing along, making for a memorable evening.
