Positano Destination Wedding at La Tagliata
Alex and Jon, what can I say. Yesterday was absolutely something else. I met these two years ago after putting out a model call while I was traveling in Sorrento. The pair had been scoping out wedding venues at the time, and we organized a little couple shoot at the amazing Bagni Regina Giovanna in Sorrento. By total fluke, the pair are also from Manchester, and we hit it off straight away. I was absolutely over the moon when they got back in touch a year later to enquire about me photographing their destination wedding in Positano, and here we are. What a day it was.

Prep in Positano
After getting into Positano bright and early and grabbing some breakfast, I went for a little reccie before heading over to meet the guys at groom prep at Casa Positano. Surprisingly, everyone was pretty much ready to go, so we headed up to the terrace where Jon got the good whiskey out and everyone had a toast.
I then wandered over to the girls at Casa Claudius. Choosing not to have a makeup artist, Alex had had a makeup lesson and was giving all the gals step-by-step instructions on how to do their makeup. The morning was super chill and really fun, with everyone sitting out on the terrace, drinking wine, and getting ready. Alex looked incredible in her Ingrid Olic dress from The Aisle, paired with the most beautiful pale pink Mach & Mach shoes and finished off with the perfect lace-edged cathedral length veil for an Italian nod to a super chic look. Her bridesmaids all wore mismatched green satin dresses. Alex was even lucky enough to have a bridesmaid trained in floristry who ran to the local flower shop in the morning and created bespoke, understated bouquets for everyone, with gorgeous white lilies.

Positano Town Hall Ceremony
Alex and Jon chose to have their Positano destination wedding on the outdoor terrace of Positano’s Town Hall (comune). The day was organized by Rosanna from Orange Blossom Wedding Planners, and Alex and her dad were picked up in a beautiful, old, open-top beetle from Sorrento Street Events.
The ceremony itself was lovely, with a reading from a close friend. The ceremony had to be read in both Italian and English to make it legal, and the sun shone down through it all. After the ceremony, drinks were brought straight over, and everyone grabbed a glass for a toast. I then photographed the family pictures before getting everyone upstairs for the confetti.
Pictures in Positano
Back in the Beetle, we were driven through the beautiful streets of Positano before heading to one of my favorite spots, Don Giovanni restaurant, which kindly allowed us to grab some quick pictures in their stunning entryway. The driver of the Beetle then recommended we go to a local fruit stall on the roadside with the most incredible view over Positano. It did not disappoint, and the fruit stall owner even got involved, posing Jon and Alex at the stall and adding lemons to the car. It was such a laugh.
Reception at La Tagliata
It was then time to drive up the hillside to the beautiful La Tagliata. Greeted with two mandolin players playing wedding hits, the party mood was set straight away. La Tagliata had an endless stream of incredible Italian food from the moment guests arrived: pizzas, pastas, grilled meat, and veg; it was everything you could want for a destination Positano wedding.
Speeches, cake cut and Dancefloor
The pair had four brilliant speeches, talking all about how amazing they both are and the story of their lives together so far. Alex’s dad jokingly made Jon a contract handing over all responsibility for things like building flat-pack furniture and helping her find the best car insurance.
Alex then shocked everyone with a gorgeous dress change before the couple headed to the terrace to cut the cake. I suggested they also do a Champagne spray, but Alex didn’t quite master it, instead just pulling out the cork with no spray, to Jon’s despair as an ex-bartender. Knowing it was almost time for me to go, Jon got on the mic to announce that everyone should get on the dance floor so I could get dancing shots. Everyone obliged, and the dance floor quickly became filled with wild dancing and people having the absolute time of their lives, thanks to DJ Luciano.
The biggest thank you to you both for asking me to be a part of your brilliant day. Here are your previews!
