A Fusion Wedding at Prestwold Hall Wedding Venue
I’m so excited to share this gorgeous Fusion Wedding at Prestwold Hall. It was such an honor to capture Jyoti and Joe’s incredible Hindu ceremony and the rest of their brilliant day. Every part of Prestwold Hall, from the stunning Library room to the beautiful gardens, was breathtaking. Jyoti and Joe, your wedding was a beautiful blend of tradition and style, and I hope you love these images as much as I loved capturing them.
Bridal prep at Prestwold Hall
I arrived at Prestwold Hall early and took a good wander around, and I was absolutely blown away by the beauty of this wedding venue.
I then headed up to bridal prep, where Jyoti was nearly ready to go—and she looked stunning! Her hair and makeup were done by Manisha, and she had opted for a gorgeous red lip. She wore the most incredible white lehenga, covered in intricate floral beading. Her second wedding outfit, a white satin dress, was from Angelica Bridal.
The Hindu Ceremony
The ceremony took place in Prestwold Hall’s beautiful Library room. It was an honor to photograph such a brilliant ceremony, filled with tradition and meaningful rituals. The ceremony began with Joe’s entrance, where he smashed a clay pot in a ritual known as the Pokwanu, symbolizing his ability to overcome life’s challenges. Following this was the Ganesh Puja, a prayer to Lord Ganesh to remove any obstacles and bless the couple’s journey together. The atmosphere was electric, with traditional music playing and incense burning.
After Joe’s arrival, the bride made her entrance, gracefully walking towards the mandap, where the main ceremony would take place. The mandap was beautifully decorated with flowers, creating a sacred space for the rituals to unfold.
The ceremony itself was a blend of tradition and emotion. One highlight was the Hasta Melap, where the couple’s hands were tied together with blessed thread and scarves—a tradition that reminded me of the Scottish handfasting ceremony I love so much. This was followed by the Mangal Phera, where the couple circled the sacred fire four times, each round representing an important aspect of life. The priest chanted prayers and blessings, guiding the couple through each step.
The ceremony concluded with the Aashirvaad, where the couple received blessings from their elders, marking the start of their new life together. Afterward, everyone headed outside for the drinks reception and a confetti throw.
