Storrs Hall

Elopement

I was utterly blown away by the beautiful Storrs Hall. Nestled on the shores of Lake Windermere, this stunning Georgian mansion offers one of the most picturesque settings for an intimate and romantic day, and Lucy and Lee’s elopement was exactly that—pure magic from start to finish.

Prep at The Boathouse

Keeping things untraditional, Lucy and Lee decided to get ready together at the gorgeous Boathouse at Storrs Hall. When I arrived, Lucy was getting her hair and make up finished, she was absolutely glowing. The morning was super relaxed, with Lee helping Lucy into her dress. Lucy gifted Lee a heartfelt keepsake of him and his grandad, as their wedding day would have been his birthday. It wasn’t long before it was time for their ceremony.

The ceremony at Storrs Hall

The couple had their hearts set on an outdoor wedding, but with the weather not on their side. Luckily, the indoor room at Storrs Halll is beautiful, with its huge windows that let in lots of natural light. Since it was just the two of them, they asked two lovely hotel staff members to serve as witnesses. They exchanged personal vows, which had everyone in the room—including Lucy, who swore she wouldn’t cry—tearing up. After the ceremony was over they had a little cake cut, as a friend has made their wedding cake for them.

The Pavilion and Grounds

After the cake cutting, it was time to head out and explore the breathtaking grounds of Storrs Hall. I was absolutely blown away by the beauty of the setting, with so many little lakeside spots and overgrown beaches, perfect for photos. We also spent some time at the gorgeous Pavilion, where Seed and Wild had created two stunning meadow installations, along with Lucy’s beautiful bouquet and Lee’s buttonhole.

Lucy had thought of absolutely every detail and had even arranged confetti cannons for some fun photos. One of the staff members helped out with setting them off, and luckily Lucy had a backup as the first one didn’t quite go to plan.

I then left the pair to soak up the last of their day together and enjoy their intimate wedding breakfast.
